Youth and Sports Minister Snezana Samardzic Markovic says United Regions of Serbia (URS) leader Mladjan Dinkic would make an ideal candidate for prime minister. “Mladjan is exactly like that. If he could return the old foreign currency savings he can implement decentralization as well,” she told daily Press. URS leader would be “ideal PM” According to her, a prime minister should possess energy, intelligence, tenacity and vision, has to be ready to “jump into fire” and to make brave decisions so both the state and citizens would benefit. The minister explained that polls showed that large parties were afraid that smaller parties would become stronger and become an alternative in the eyes of the voters. Samardzic Markovic said that even though the URS would present its decentralization program, it would not be the party’s main trump card. “The elections are not a game of cards so we do not have to hide trump cards and aces up our sleeves. We have been talking to citizens for a long a time and things we agree to do we actually make happen. The citizens gave us their support for decentralization and within several months municipalities and towns got their money and property back. That’s our trump card, solutions, not demagogy,” the minister stressed. She added that the URS would not form an alliance with centralists and those who did not see Serbia as a part of Europe.
