LDP: No "Kosovo or EU" dilemma

The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) said on Friday that there was no such thing as a “choice between Kosovo and Europe".

The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) said on Friday that there was no such thing as a “choice between Kosovo and Europe". Serbia must not remain cut off from a modern Europe, as that would make it an out-dated isolated spot on the margins of not only the EU, but of the whole of region as well, the LDP believes. LDP: No "Kosovo or EU" dilemma The LDP Political Council strongly supports the party's U-Turn platform and believes it to be the only possible way that can prevent the country from missing the great opportunity of being granted EU candidate status as soon as in December. This opportunity is "severely threatened by the latest hesitations of the government founded on the principles of European integration, as well as by minimizing the importance" of soon candidate status, LDP said in the statement. “There is no such thing as a ‘Kosovo or Europe dilemma’," the LDP Political Council released. This is why it was so important that the U-Turn platform be also backed by "those politicians and outstanding figures of the society who refuse to accept any new declarations on Kosovo that rest on old delusions and who no longer want to keep silent about the problems the country is faced with and the policy on Kosovo which has experienced a major defeat," the statement reads. “It is obvious that the European perspective is threatened by “calculations of the majority of parties, relativization of freedom, human rights, market economy and social security,” the LDP concluded.

The LDP Political Council strongly supports the party's U-Turn platform and believes it to be the only possible way that can prevent the country from missing the great opportunity of being granted EU candidate status as soon as in December.
