Serbian Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic urged Wednesday evening EULEX to take over the investigation into the attack on three Serbs in Kosovska Mitrovica. He added the investigation should be carried out by EULEX rather than the Kosovo Police Service (KPS), and that the motives of this, as he put it, terrorist act should be revealed as soon as possible. EULEX urged to investigate attack on Serbs Bogdanovic, who is on his way to Kosovo where he will attend the funeral of the Serb man who was killed last night, told Tanjug that it was very important to carry out an efficient probe and to arrest the perpetrators given that murder of one and wounding of two Serbs had raised tensions, which were already high for months in northern Kosovo. Stressing that the attack deserved the most severe criticism and that it was yet another among the incidents in the last few months, the Serbian minister urged Serbs not to react to provocations by Albanian extremists and called on KFOR and EULEX to focus on neuralgic points in the north, where there was a constant threat of inter-ethnic conflicts, rather than on the administrative crossings. “The attack shows that (ethnic) Albanian extremists are using every opportunity to use violence against Serbs, and that years of lack of punishment have resulted in an increase of their violent acts,” Bogdanovic stressed. The minister called on the international presence in the province to take all necessary measures to secure basic human rights of people in the north of the province, such as the right to personal and property security. The three Serbs were attacked by unidentified persons on Wednesday evening somewhat before 20:00 CET in Kosovska Mitrovica. One of them, identified as Savo Mojsic, died of his wounds later in the hospital. Kosovo police Regional Spokesman Besim Hoti told Tanjug that six houses had been searched in the Kosovska Mitrovica neighborhood of Brdjani following the Wednesday night shooting which killed one and wounded two Serbs. So far there are no suspects for the murder of Savo Mojsic and the attack on the other two Serbs. “During the night, the police took statements from three Albanians who are not suspected of the murder, but were questioned as witnesses. We are continuing the investigation,” said the spokesman. But Kosovska Mitrovica Mayor Krstimir Pantic stated today that "everybody knows" the Serbs were shot by members of the paramilitary ROSU unit, but that everyone was "keeping quiet about it". Pantic said the murder was "inspired" by international officials, and announced his municipality will sever all ties with KFOR. Meanwhile, doctors at the hospital in Kosovska Mitrovica said on Thursday morning they were unable to save 28-year-old Savo Mojsic due to the nature and severity of his injuries. The other two Serbs, who have also been shot, are stable and their condition is not life-threatening. The third individual who was injured in a fistfight is also stable, the doctors said. Doctor Miroslav Milosevic told a news conference thatMojsic's death was caused by internal abdominal bleeding caused by a gunshot wound. More detailed information will be available in a few days, when the autopsy report comes out. Head of the hospital Milena Cvetkovic said that the life of another injured Serb, Rados Vukicevic, was still in danger, but his condition was stable. Vukicevic was shot in the back, which damaged his spine and the surrounding tissue. He is in serious condition and is currently in intensive care, Cvetkovic added. Veljko Djordjevic, who was also wounded by a firearm, sustained an injury of the right upper arm, orthopedist Dusan Petrovic told the press. Dejan Vukomanovic, who suffered head cuts and contusions, was also admitted to the orthopedics department, and according to Petrovic it is obvious the injuries were sustained in a brawl. So far the Kosovo police, KPS, has no suspects for the murder of Mojsic and the attack on the other Serbs.
