A majority of members of the Kosovo assembly in Pristina rejected on Thursday demands of the opposition Self-Determination Movement. The Self-Determination Movement requested the Kosovo police to unilaterally remove the roadblocks in northern Kosovo and called on the Kosovo Albanian government to cancel the dialogue with Belgrade. The radical ethnic Albanian movement demanded that all agreements reached with Belgrade until this moment be declared null and void, that the Kosovo institutions start investing efforts into stripping local Serb structures of financial sources, that the municipal presidents be arrested and local self-governments in the north abolished. By rejecting the Self-Determination Movement's demands, the majority of assembly deputees took stand that the dialogue with Belgrade should be continued, and stressed that they were against unilaterals action of the Kosovo police in northern Kosovo. With 54 votes against, the Kosovo assembly also dismissed Thursday the Self-Determination Movement's requests related to other aspects of the current situation in Kosovo.
