Pavicevic noted that Dacic supported the requirements in principle, adding that the strike would nevertheless last until all conditions were fulfilled "in writing.' The PSS demands for the improvement of financial and social status of all employees of the Ministry of Interior (MUP), new systematization, implementation of the special collective agreement for police officers, amendments to the Law on Police, as well as new uniforms and equipment. The trade union earlier stated that the strike with a minimum work process implies that the police officers will reduce their work capacity at border crossings, and ID cards, passports and other documents will be issued in cases of emergency only. During the strike, the police will only respond to major incidents. Besides the PSS, which has more than 13,000 members and is representative as well as the the Independent Police Union of Serbia, there are six more police unions in MUP. (file)
