Situation in Kosovo is currently peaceful. Serbs additionally reinforced a barricade on the bridge over the Ibar River which separates southern and northern parts of Kosovska Mitrovica on Wednesday night. Serbs reinforce barricade in Kosovska Mitrovica KFOR has increased the number of its troops on the southern side of the bridge. KFOR troops have set up barracks and barbed wire in the place where a military based used to be. The former base was removed a little over a year ago. They took over control of multiethnic neighborhoods of Bosnjacka mahala and Mikro naselje in northern Mitrovica from the Kosovo police on Wednesday. Serbs responded by unloading additional amounts of gravel at the barricade on the main bridge over the Ibar River. They spent the night in tents on the bridge in Mitrovica and at the other barricades in northern Kosovo. The local Serbs expect that a thorough and unbiased investigation into the events at the Jarinje checkpoint will be conducted. Northern Kosovo Serb representatives are trying to convince the international community representatives in the province to refrain themselves from use of force and weapons and to solve all misunderstandings peacefully and through dialogue. They have also appealed to the citizens to remain calm and united because, as they say, it is the only way to achieve their goals to keep Kosovo within Serbia. Serbs reinforce barricade in Kosovska Mitrovica

KFOR has increased the number of its troops on the southern side of the bridge.

KFOR troops have set up barracks and barbed wire in the place where a military based used to be. The former base was removed a little over a year ago.
