Jagodina Mayor and United Serbia (JS) leader Dragan Markovic Palma has stated that he has resigned as an MP. He told Tanjug that his resignation should be noted at parliament’s Administrative Committee meeting on Monday. JS leader resigns as MP According to him, Zoran Vasic will replace him in the Serbian parliament. Markovic is the third MP who decided to keep his post in the local self-government instead the one in parliament, in accordance with Anti-Corruption Agency’s regulation on multiple positions. The JS leader said that he was not sorry he resigned as an MP and added that the state must never depend on one or two persons. He pointed out that this was an opportunity to commit himself even more to his work as a mayor and his party. Three more MPs should decide which office they will keep in the next ten days. According to him, Zoran Vasić will replace him in the Serbian parliament.
