Greek Ambassador to Belgrade Dimosthenis Stoidis voiced expectation Thursday that Serbia will become an EU candidate country in December. The ambassador underlined that Greece fully backed Serbia's EU integration. Ambassador: Greece fully supports Serbia’s EU integration “The efforts will be invested in setting a date for commencement of Serbia's accession talks,” he told a press conference at the Hyatt Hotel. Stoidis underlined that the economic and overall bilateral relations between Serbia and Greece were fruitful, which was confirmed during the recent visit of Greek Foreign Minister Stavros Lambrinidis to Serbia. The Greek ambassador added that Greek entrepreneurs had been running their businesses in Serbia for quite a long time, that Greece was one of the biggest investors in Serbia and that he was looking forward to any improvement in cooperation. As it was announced Thursday, Belgrade will host a major economic manifestation “Go International” from October 24-25, which will gather more than 115 companies from Greece and 150 companies from Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia and Russia.
