The Serbian government called on the UN, EU, and NATO on Saturday to take adequate measures in compliance with their jurisdictions to remove Priština’s threats.

The Serbian government called on the UN, EU, and NATO on Saturday to take adequate measures in compliance with their jurisdictions to remove Pristina’s threats. The government also called on the international institutions to secure conditions for the continuation of the dialogue. Government calls on UN, EU, NATO to prevent violence The Serbian government severely condemned the statements of interim bodies in Pristina threatening to use force in northern Kosovo on September 16 and the same scenario as they did on July 25, 2011, the Serbian government released. "The announcement of unilateral and violent acts represents a threat to the security of the entire region, and jeopardizes the continuation of the dialogue and implementation of the achieved, status neutral agreements," the government's statement reads. The Serbian government pointed out that Pristina and the international institutions which had a mandate to secure peace and security in Kosovo would be held responsible for the potential consequences of the use of violence and unilateral steps. Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci had announced that after September 15 the Kosovo police and customs will take control of the crossings in northern Kosovo. After the violence that broke out in northern Kosovo after Pristina's unilateral attempt to deploy its customs and police officers to the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings, Belgrade and Pristina reached an agreement on customs stamps on September 2, but did not discuss the issue of who will control the crossings.
