Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic says parliament has an important role in establishing communication to improve cooperation with China. On the last day of the visit to Chhina, Djukic-Dejanovic met with the speaker of the Shanghai Assembly, where she stated that the cooperation with that institution was very significant for Serbia, since it represents 23 million people. Djukic-Dejanovic, who led a parliamentary and business delegation to China, also visited a neurological hospital and the university in Shanghai. Asked if the parliamentary diplomacy had yielded any results, she answered affirmatively. According to her, Djukic-Dejanovic, she left China "convinced that parliament could have a major role in opening various doors and that it is up to the experts and economists to take advantage of the contacts established by the parliament in order to improve cooperation with other countries".
