The situation was unchanged on Saturday morning at the barricade in Rudare, Zvecan, where around 200 local Serbs are still physically protecting the road block. KFOR vehicles briefly at barricade in Rudare KFOR units, which withdrew Friday after their commander Erhard Buehler came to an agreement with representatives of the Serbian government, visited the location three times today to then head back toward Kosovska Mitrovica. Previously Buehler threatened to use force to remove protesters, and repeated the same threat after withdrawing late on Friday. Late on Friday afternoon, following a very tense situation and several hours of talks with representatives of the Serbian government, KFOR troops decided not to remove the barricade. A convoy of about ten KFOR vehicles came near the barricade from the direction of southern Kosovska Mitrovica at 10:40 CET and left after ten minutes. The night after a tense day went peacefully. But the citizens decided not to allow vehicles of the international mission to move in this part of the province. KFOR on Friday closed both Brnjak and Jarinje to all traffic, citing "security reasons". Local authorities in the north are warning that the supply of citizens with basic food and medical supplies has been jeopardized with the move. The Serbs are blocking roads leading toward administrative line checkpoints of Jarinje and Brnjak in protest over attempts of the Kosovo Albanian authorities to take over the posts. The checkpoints are located in the Serb-dominated north, and locals there as well as official Belgrade want the situation to return how it was before the crisis broke out late on Monday.
