UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic discussed in New York on Thursday evening the situation in Kosovo. Ban called for finding a solution in conformity with Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council, said Tanjug in its report. "Work toward solution in conformity with Resolution 1244" Ban expressed his concern over the unexpected action that led to the deterioration of the situation in northern Kosovo, and welcomed Serbian President's Boris Tadic's message that Serbia remains committed to resolving existing problems through dialogue, the news agency was told at the UN Headquarters. "Ban stressed the importance of all actors refraining from any actions that could exacerbate the situation and for them to work towards a solution acceptable to all concerned, in conformity with Security Council Resolution 1244," the UN released. According to the statement, the UN Secretary General also welcomed Serbian President's Boris Tadic's call for calm, and the message that Serbia remains committed to resolving existing problems between Belgrade and Pristina through dialogue.
