Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic says of the Pristina authorities on the embargo on goods coming from central Serbia was "unsustainable". The situation will affect all citizens of the autonomous province of Kosovo and Metohija, and represents a violation of the CEFTA agreement, he was quoted as saying. "Pressure increasing on Serbia to recognize Kosovo" "This is an unsustainable situation that harms everyone, above all the Serbian citizens living on the territory of the autonomous province of Kosovo-Metohija, whether they are of Serbian or Albanian nationality," Jeremic underscored, adding that pressures on Serbia are constantly increasing. "Highly influential world countries are doing their best to pressure others into recognizing Kosovo. That is something we are struggling with on a daily basis, and resisting with far greater success than anyone could have expected, particularly those countries that exert the pressure," he stressed. Jeremic said that Serbia will continue resisting pressures, "hopefully equally successfully". In view of the Kosovo government's decision, Jeremic said he addressed international organizations, and bilaterally those countries that have influence on the separatists in Pristina. "This is a step that represents a violation of the CEFTA agreement, principles, and good will that both sides have shown in the dialogue so far. However, this should not come as a surprise taking into account who we are dealing with," the minister said. "Just like Serbian President Boris Tadic said, we will respond diplomatically and sensibly, rather than reciprocally, and we will request the world's diplomatic support for our position. We will see how much support we will get," Jeremic stated. Jeremic said that there were people who believe Pristina made the move in agreement and collusion with "someone from the outside", but had no evidence to prove this. Vuk Jeremic (FoNet, file)
