Three opposition parties of Kosovo Albanians have requested the holding of an extraordinary session of the assembly in Pristina. The parties called doe an end to "technical talks with Belgrade". K. Albanian opposition parties against dialogue The Democratic League of Kosovo, the Self-Determination Movement and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo submitted a request to the assembly for the holding of an extraordinary session "on the termination of technical talks with Belgrade, after Belgrade and Pristina had reached the agreement in Brussels on the freedom of movement, civil registry books and recognition of university degrees," Albanian language media reported. They want the session to be held by the end of the week, reports said. The ruling parties responded by saying that the assembly "has already stated its position on the dialogue, by adopting a resolution that supports the EU-facilitated talks with Belgrade". The opposition however want a debate, claiming that the agreements reached throughout the dialogue "crossed the so-called 'red lines' from the resolution". These parties also believe that the first agreements achieved in Brussels meant that the Kosovo government gave up on defending its "sovereignty and integrity". Ethnic Albanians in Kosovo unilaterally declared independence more than three years ago, but the proclamation was rejected by Serbia. The ongoing dialogue between the two sides is sponsored by the EU.
