OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA) plenary session in Belgrade will be held Saturday. Voting on 25 resolutions, including the one on Combat against Illicit Trade in Human Organs, is scheduled for Sunday. OSCE PA to debate organ trade resolution Prior to the plenary session, a debate will be held on the resolution on Combat against Illicit Trade in Human Organs proposed by Serbia. The resolution originally proposed that the investigation into organ trafficking in Kosovo in 1999 be led by the UN, but a compromise was reached for the investigation to be jointly carried out by EULEX and UNMIK. Serbia’s Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic will be the moderator of today's debate, and Head of Serbia's delegation at the OSCE PA Gordana Grubjesic will hold the introductory speech. Serbian government Committee on Missing Persons Chairman Veljko Odalovic and Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor Bruno Vekaric will also address the attendees. The debate will not be attended by Council of Europe Special Sapporteur Dick Marty, who said that OSCE's invitation had come too late, and that, due to his previously scheduled obligations, he would not be able to take part in the session. Marty expressed hope that today's debate in Belgrade would be successful, and welcomed all initiatives aimed at implementing the resolution adopted by the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) on January 25, regarding the investigation into the allegations on inhuman treatment of people and illicit trafficking in human organs in Kosovo, PACE's statement reads. Apart from the voting on the resolutions, the adoption of the Belgrade declaration is also scheduled for Sunday, the closing day of the OSCE PA session in Belgrade, which began on July 6. (Beta)
