Polish Ambassador to Belgrade Andrzej Jasionowski said Sunday it was very realistic for Serbia to get EU candidate status in December. He pointed out support to European aspiration of the Western Balkan countries was among Poland's priorities during its EU Presidency. Ambassador: Poland supports Serbia’s EU integration “Poland would like Serbia to get EU candidate status in December, and this is a very realistic prospect, assuming of course Serbia fulfills all the necessary criteria,” Jasionowski told Novi Sad-based daily Dnevnik. The Polish ambassador added that nobody was asking Serbia to recognize Kosovo, but good relations with all its neighbors would undoubtedly be an EU membership requirement in the future.
