Labor minister: Tycoons should “repay Serbia” The minister fears, however, that the change will not happen fast or easy. “I think that we should communicate and try to direct those people’s capital to a common benefit,” Ljajic stressed. The Social Democratic Party of Serbia leader believes that one should differentiate between those who illegally became rich, whom judiciary should deal with, and those wealthy people from the Business Club whose cooperation with the state is necessary in the time of crisis. He says that he made a proposal to use all state resources, such as abandoned factories and fallow land and offer them at a public tender with bank guarantees to everybody who wants to invest and employ people. “For example, we have good factories when it comes to infrastructure and they are declining even though they could be put to work. I thought it was one of the ways to use the wealthy people’s capital in Serbia,” Ljajic was quoted as saying. Rasim Ljajic (Tanjug, file)
