Serbian PM Mirko Cvetković has stated that "it would be good" if businessman Milan beko offered to sell the Port of Belgrade shares to anyone interested.

Serbian PM Mirko Cvetkovic has stated that "it would be good" if businessman Milan beko offered to sell the Port of Belgrade shares to anyone interested. Beko invited the state to buy the company's shares. PM: Offer Port of Belgrade shares "to everyone" Cvetkovic spoke in Belgrade on Tuesday to say that he believed there would be interested parties, "if Beko placed a public announcement". Late on Monday, Beko said during B92 TV's Insider Live show that he had offered the state to buy the rights to use the Port of Belgrade, because he was convinced a law on conversion was designed to "take away his right to use the land". Previously, the Higher Court in Belgrade ordered a temporary ban, preventing his company, Worldfin, from managing the land in question. All this comes as the dispute between the Port of Belgrade and the City of Belgrade continues. At stake is the ownership of over 100 hectares of land in the capital city, which are currently being used by the Port. Serbian tycoons Milan Beko and Miroslav Miskovic bought the Port in 2005 for some EUR 40mn when they took over the shares owned by the company's workers and the state. Mirko Cvetkovic (Beta, file)
