Minister without Portfolio Sulejman Ugljanin has sent another invitation to the three leading candidates for the Bosniak National Council to form the council. The three top their respective lists and are Esad Dzudzevic, Muamer Zukorlic and Nazir Nokic. Another invitation to Bosniak leaders to form council Ugljanin spoke Tuesday at a ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the council and the Bosniak Flag Day, where he called on the media to be objective in their reports on events in Sandzak, an area in southwestern Serbia where Bosniaks (Muslims) form a significant part of the population. The schools and the local government offices in Sandzak are closed on Flag Day. "I cannot say bad things do not happen, but that is why we from the Bosniak List for European Sandzak are here as legitimate representatives of Bosniaks in the government and parliament, to help deal with those bad things in the institutions of the system, and not on the street," said Ugljanin, who also leads the Party of Democratic Action. These are isolated cases that need not disturb the public and push investors away, he noted. He called on the media to be objective in their reports and avoid hate speech. "The media should not refer to Muslims as fundamentalists or to Serbs as chauvinists, because both the Bosniaks and the Serbs are the connective tissue that should build peace, unity and mutual cooperation," Ugljanin remarked.
