Austrian MEP Ulrike Lunacek is interested in running the EU delegation in Kosovo. She confirmed to Vienna-based daily Die Presse that she had applied for the post. Austrian MEP wants to run EU delegation in Kosovo According to her, both EU and Kosovo officials encouraged her to apply. Die Presse claims Lunacek has the support of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule. She currently serves as European Parliament rapporteur for Kosovo and is often in contact with Kosovo's institutions. Lunacek's efforts to have the EU allow visa-free travel for Kosovo citizens has made her popular with Kosovo's officials.
