Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic conferred with ambassadors of EU countries on Tuesday in Belgrade, said reports. He informed them about the progress Serbia has made on its EU path since February 2011. Deputy PM confers with EU ambassadors Djelic especially pointed to the tangible fulfillment of priorities defined in the Action Plan which are aimed at helping Serbia obtain EU candidate status by the end of 2011, the Serbian government office for cooperation with the media released. During the regular quarterly meeting, Djelic informed the EU ambassadors about the organization of the meeting of the committee in charge of the implementation of the Interim Trade Agreement between Serbia and the EU which is entering the third year of successful implementation. Djelic also spoke about the idea to host a Serbia-EU summit in September and the agreement between Western Balkan countries regarding the initiative for the "linearizion of amounts of EU pre-accession funds and financial assistance to the regional countries so that they could make better use of the funds". Also on Tuesday, the government named Djelic its chief negotiator in Serbia's EU integration process, and put him in charge of the implementation of the action plan for achieving the EU candidate status.
