Forum for Security and Democracy (FBD) NGO has expressed concern over a dramatic decline in citizens’ support to Serbia’s EU membership. FBD has assessed that such mood could be an indication of social stresses that could affect security architecture of Serbia and the entire region. NGO warns about declining support for EU The NGO believes that responsibility to keep the situation from escalating primarily lies with those who are in power today. “FDB believes that such situation is not only a result of the global crisis, or behavior of the EU itself or the Serbian opposition, but that the most responsible for that is so-called Coalition for European Serbia, which has a majority to vote in decisions and laws necessary for Serbia’s EU accession and during whose mandate citizens’ EU perspective started to collapse,” the NGO pointed out in the statement.
