Signing of an agreement between the government, unions and employers is once again uncertain, only ten days after a promising Social-Economic Council meeting. The unions believe that the minimum price of one working hour should be increased to RSD 105, the employers have said that the price should be RSD 96, which is a dinar more than the current price, while the Finance Ministry’s projections say that the minimum price could be RSD 98. Social agreement put on hold The signing of the agreement was scheduled for April 8. However, there was no official proposal and Alliance of Independent Unions of Serbia (SSS) President Ljubisav Orbovic says that this shows the government’s lack of seriousness and he doubts that the agreement will be signed. “We are now talking about strategy, tactics, how we are going to act, what the agreement needs to have. We are waiting to see whether the government will present its proposal or not, it is irresponsible that it still has not done it, so the question is whether anything will come out of it,” he pointed out. The employers have also been criticizing the government. Member of the Social-Economic Council Nebojsa Atanackovic says that they are even prepared to accept the minimum wage determined by the Finance Ministry, since the state is the largest employer, but that the assessment still has not been made. “If we are talking about a date and if we say that something will be on April 8, it is not easy to justify every delay. I hope that it will certainly be done next week. It’s never easy to speak about the guilt, but in this case it’s clear that the guilt lies with the government,” he pointed out. Labor and Social Policy Minister Rasim Ljajic has made a statement on behalf of the government. He told Tanjug news agency that the announced social agreement between the unions, employers and the government, which should determine the anti-crisis measures, probably would not be signed tomorrow since the document was still being harmonized.
