Head of the Belgrade negotiating team Borislav Stefanovic expects that “some issues will be closed” in the next round of talks in Brussels. He added that he referred to the issues which had been opened during the first meeting between Belgrade and Pristina’s delegations. Team leader: Electricity on agenda “We are optimisic in that sense. Two opposing positions are becoming closer in majority of issues, but not in all of them,“ Stefanovic told Beta news agency. The first round of Belgrade-Pristina talks was held on March 8 in Brussels. EU diplomat Robert Cooper acted as a mediator in the talks, while Pristina’s negotiating team is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri. The head of the Serbian negotiating team has expressed expectation that “one or two new issues will be on the agenda“ on Monday, but added that this also depended on the completion of the talks that started at the first meeting. According to him, it is possible that the issue of electricity will be discussed at the next meeting. “We are not going to talk about it in the sense it has been interpreted lately, Kosovo's electricity supply, but in the sense of regulating the electricity market in Kosovo and Metohija and electricity supply of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, because it is a big problem,“ he pointed out. Stefanovic also expressed hope that issues of cadastre, birth, death and marriage registries and telecommunications would be completed during the next round of talks. Borko Stefanovic (Tanjug, file)
