General Secretary of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) Jakup Krasniqi was elected president of the new Kosovo assembly. Earlier during the founding session, members of the assembly took an oath, among them 13 Serbs who ran on tickets of parties based in the enclaves south of the Ibar River. Assembly president elected in Pristina Krasniqi was elected with the votes of the parties that will make up the new Kosovo government, including eight members of the Independent Liberal Party and the Serb Social-Democratic Party of Kosovo.
