B92 has learned that Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic will submit a proposal for the government reshuffle to the ruling coalition leaders next week. The Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) still has not received a proposal for the government reshuffle from the Democratic Party (DS). Govt. reshuffle to be discussed next week SPS deputy leader Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic told B92 that the SPS would consider all options and make sure that the party’s influence is not reduced in the election year. Cvetkovic will propose two models for the government reshuffle to DS leader Boris Tadic and SPS leader Ivica Dacic. The first option is to reduce the number of ministries, which would include changes to the laws on the ministries, budget and possibly on the government as well. The second option is personnel changes. The SPS would reveal their position only after they have heard a concrete proposal from the Democrats. “We will see what repercussions that will have on the influence we can have in the society in the upcoming months,” Djukic-Dejanovic stressed. G17 Plus is also waiting for Tadic and Dacic’s decision. Youth and Sport Minister Snezana Samardzic-Markovic did not want to reveal whether there will be some changes in her cabinet. “We will officially make a comment once we officially know the positions. I'm not bored in my sector, I love it the way it is but I still won't comment on it,“ she stressed. The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Cedomir Jovanovic has stated that his party would not participate in the government reshuffle and that it was not planning on joining the government. He pointed out, however, that the LDP would support all European laws in the Serbian parliament. The Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) also advocates a speedy reshuffle which would ease the crisis and “put an end to Milosevic's controversial businesspeople, present tycoons, their tycoon, arrogant and monopolistic way of doing business and tax evasion“.
