PM Mirko Cvetkovic late on Monday said Mladjan Dinkic's performance as minister of economy gave "poor results". Dinkic was also one of his deputies in the cabinet, now awaiting for the Serbian parliament to relieve him of these duties, after Cvetkovic announced he had "initiated proceedings for his replacement". PM slams sacked minister's performance Cvetkovic - whom Dinkic last week described as a prime minister who did not make his own decisions - said that sacking the minister was a timely decision in the best interest of the citizens. "I looked at the performance of Dinkic and his ministry. He performed the worst on Serbia's greatest problem - unemployment - which was in his jurisdiction and for which significant budget funds were set aside," the PM told state broadcaster RTS. Cvetkovic also said that Dinkic's removal "would've come up in the government reshuffle", although it was triggered by his clash with Finance Ministry Slobodan Ilic, who was also sacked on Monday. The prime minister also asserted that a possible cabinet reshuffle and the performance of all ministries "would be considered in the coming days". Cvetkovic said his decision to sack Dinkic was not made in order to force early elections and was not directed against his G17 Plus party, which announced its remaining ministers would not leave the cabinet.
