A high opposition DSS party official said on Monday that recent disputes in the ruling coalition were undermining the authority of the Serbian government. Milos Jovanovic told journalists during a news conference in Belgrade that therefore the only solution to the current bad situation would be calling early parliamentary elections. DSS: Early elections only solution Jovanovic said the government, whose authority had already been shaken by bad results, “plunged the country into despair,” adding that the entire ruling coalition were responsible for the situation and that they should all face the political responsibility. “These attempts to shift responsibility between each other seem to me extremely pathetic. All in the ruling coalition, from President Boris Tadic to Mladjan Dinkic, Ivica Dacic and Dragan Markovic, are responsible for the despair into which the country has been thrown,” Jovanovic underlined. In his opinion, the gathering will not be a recognition for the Serbian state and army, but "yet another humiliation" and "a clear indicator that Serbia is becoming closer to the alliance." Jovanovic stressed that DSS finds this unacceptable, considering NATO's role in the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the bombing of Serbia, as well as the fact that "the alliance is party to the secession of Kosovo even today." Serbia's Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac recently announced that Belgrade will host the annual conference of NATO and PfP countries.
