Serbia's Interior Minister Ivica Dacic has met with U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Head Michele Leonhart. He said that the Serbian police were willing to cooperate with the DEA in training and in combating narcotics trafficking, the Serbian Interior Ministry released Saturday. Interior minister meets with DEA head The two officials described the cooperation between Serbia and the U.S. in combat against illegal drug trafficking as very good, the release says. There have been several joint operations so far and Leonhart mentioned the Balkan Warrior as one of the most significant among them. The meeting was also attended by heads of European and Eurasian operations. Serbia is prepared to request membership in the international conference on combating drug trafficking, which is lead by the DEA, and propose a joint regional conference in Belgrade.
