The opposition Serb Progressive Party (SNS) rally in Belgrade on Saturday carries with it minimal security risks, says Tomislav Nikolic. The party leader told Radio B92 on Thursday that "a peaceful gathering is also in the interest of the police". Regardless of some politicians from the government "wishing for something to happen on Saturday", said Nikolic, conflicts are not in his party's interests. He said he "guaranteed" that none of the people who were invited to attend the rally would participate or allow the gathering to "turn into something else". "Whoever intends to make trouble once the gathering is over, will have to deal with the police," said Nikolic.
