Deputy PM Bozidar Djelic will spend Christmas on Friday visiting several locations in Kosovo, his cabinet announced today in Belgrade. "This is an opportunity to wish peace and happiness to all Serbian citizens of Orthodox and other religions," Djelic told Tanjug, adding that he will visit Kosovska Mitrovica, the Serbian Orthodox monastery of Decani, and the town of Prizren. Deputy PM travels to Kosovo for Christmas "It is important not to forget the people living in Kosovo-Metohija, who need our support and solidarity, as the year of 2010 had some positive but also negative moments in the fight for Kosovo and Metohija," Djelic said. He added that "the fight will continue", that Serbia will not accept Kosovo's independence and that Serbia will fight against it "through all legal, peaceful and efficient means". He said that the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue is expected to begin soon, and pointed out that five EU members have not yet recognized Kosovo's independence. "We expect that Pristina will form its team and platform and that historic negotiations will begin with simple, technical issues, and move on to the crucial status issues," Djelic said. Serbia has to resolve the issue of Kosovo so as to join the EU, and achieve a "historic reconciliation between the Serbs and Albanians", he added.
