Shenzhen delegation visits Belgrade

A delegation of the Chinese city of Shenzhen, which will be the host of the 2011 Universiade, paid a visit to the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce (PKB) on Tuesday. The Chinese city officials wished to learn about Belgrade's experience in organizing the sporting event in 2009. Shenzhen delegation visits Belgrade The meeting was attended by Shenzhen officials and representatives of the PKB, the Serbian ministries of infrastructure, traffic and the interior, and city services, and was organized for the Shenzhen delegation to learn about the key aspects of the organization of Universiade (Student Games) in Belgrade, Secretary of the Association of Transport and Telecommunication Dragan Stefanovic stated. According to him, the main aspects of such a large manifestation are efficiency, security, environmental protection and wise spending. “I hope that Shenzhen officials will find our experience useful and apply some of our solutions since the city of Shenzhen has approximately the same number citizens as Belgrade,” Stefanovic added. The organization of such an event for the first time is a huge challenge for all services in Shenzhen, Director of Transportation Commission of the Shenzhen Municipality Huang Min stated, adding that the Chinese officials decided to consult Belgrade since it received a very positive assessment for the organization of the 2009 Universiade. "I hope that we will get useful advice from our Belgrade colleagues so as to provide the best possible organization of traffic, telecommunications and people during the manifestation," Min added. During the meeting, the representatives of Shenzhen and Belgrade signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the areas of trade, sports, cultural, science, education, environmental protection, health and social protection.
