K. Albanians: Marty report postpones talks

A Kosovo Albanian official who holds the office of acting Kosovo president says the Marty report may postpone the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue. Jakup Krasniqi has stated that the "Kosovo institutions must clarify the situation after accusations and slander" he says was done by Special Rapporteur of the Council of Europe (CoE) Dick Marty. K. Krasniqi also asserted "clarification of these accusations" should see involvement of the EU and the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE. Krasniqi expressed his belief that organ trafficking and other serious crimes, including drug and gun running, were committed "neither by officials mentioned in the report nor by the Kosovo Liberation Army". "The perpetrators should be identified. We are also interested in disclosure of identity of persons involved in such level of organized crime," Krasniqi concluded.
