European Parliament rapporteur for Serbia Jelko Kacin is visiting Serbia, where he is meeting with government and parliament officials and NGO representatives. Kacin told reporters in Belgrade on Monday that Dick Marty's report on KLA organ trafficking is not substantiated enough to justify an investigation, but underlined that the case should be reviewed. EP rapporteur visits Belgrade "The report mentions certain events in Albania and Kosovo, but the so far released parts are not conclusive enough to justify an investigation. However, if evidence is found, the issue should be handled in a timely manner, and if there is not, that should be elucidated as well," Kacin said in after meeting with Serbia's Interior Minister Ivica Dacic. He added that the accusations are serious, and that the investigation would be a great challenge for the judicial institutions of Albania and Kosovo, and that international institutions should be involved. Dacic said that Marty's report has to be investigated, and if there are "grounds (to conduct an investigation), proof of guilt should be provided.” He noted that EULEX should handle the investigation, since they have judicial and police bodies in Kosovo, but added that so far they have not asked the Serbian police to cooperate in the exchange of evidence. Kacin will also meet with Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac and Justice Minister Snezana Malovic, it was announced. Also on his schedule are meetings with parliament speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic and head of the parliamentary European Integration Committee Laslo Varga.
