A military-political commentator for Politika daily says that Serbia's intelligence agencies are responsible for not arresting Mladic and Hadzic. Ljubodrag Stojadinovic told B92 that Chief Hague Prosecutor Serge Brammertz’s report was a balance between the pressure on Serbia to fulfill its obligations toward the Hague Tribunal and a stimulation to finally get the job done. "Fugitives not protected by helpers" “I think that his assessment is mostly accurate, that operative decisiveness and energy is lacking,” said Stojadinovic. “That can only mean one thing, that within the structures of secret intelligence agencies, regardless of whether they are still active or not, that’s where the obstruction to arrest Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic lies,” he added. “They aren’t protected by any helpers, it’s just that some vital information reaches the indictees on time, comes from the center which should be in charge of apprehending them. Until this anomaly has been removed, it would mean that intelligence agencies are still controlling the level of power they want to control, and that’s why the job can’t be done,” said Stojadinovic.
