The deputy president of SPS, Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, says that she expects a government reshuffle to take place. But the ruling Socialist Party official, who is also the Serbian parliament speaker, told Belgrade daily Blic on Monday that SPS "has no reason to give up any of the ministries" it holds in the current cabinet. Socialists to hold on to ministries This, she explained, because the SPS, - and their pre-election coalition ministers, including Milutin Mrkonjic and Jovan Krkobabic - "did the bulk of their work extremely well". “The reshuffle has already been announced, and given the position of those who announced it, I expect it to happen relatively soon,” said Djukic-Dejanovic. Asked whether SPS would form a coalition with the opposition Serb Progressives (SNS) after the next election, Djukic-Dejanovic said that the Democratic Party was "a much closer partner generally speaking”, but added that in politics, “anything is possible”. Asked to comment on the European Commission's criticism of the Serbian parliament, which they said passing too many important bills in urgent procedure, bypassing public debates, the she said that parliament had the goal of harmonizing Serbia's legislation with European laws, "according to a dynamic set by the government, which arranges bills according to urgency". “Because of that, we agreed with the government that they would notify us in advance about their plans to propose laws, so we could have at least a month to plan the session and to have fewer bills in urgent procedure,” Djukic-Dejanovic told the daily. Concerning the upcoming SPS convention, Djukic-Dejanovic said that she would accept to continue in her party position if leader Ivica Dacic nominated her, and added that "most important changes in the convention would not regard appointments, but the party policy".
