Reshuffle of the Serbian government will start immediately after party elections in the Democratic Party (DS) and Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS). The reshuffle and cutting the number of ministries from 24 to 15 will be completed by the end of January, daily Blic reports. DS to lose five ministries, daily writes The proposal is that the DS will give up five ministries presently being led by its staff, and SPS and G17 Plus party two each, Blic writes. This was agreed by DS, SPS and G17 Plus leaders Boris Tadic, Ivica Dacic and Mladjan Dinkic at their meeting last week. The agreement was reached after Dacic said openly for the first time that he would accept a reduction of the number of ministries, the daily wrote on Saturday. It was originally planned that the DS would give up three ministries, and SPS and G17 Plus party one each. Tadic, however, insisted that the government was reduced to a reasonable 15 ministries and Dacic and Dinkic agreed, the daily reported. The SPS leader will probably renounce to Energy Minister Petar Skundric who is not a party deputy president, but the choice between Milutin Mrkonjic and Zarko Obradovic will be difficult as they both have high positions in the party, Blic writes. G17 Plus will probably dismiss Telecommunications and Information Society Minister Jasna Matic and National Investment Plan Minister Verica Kalanovic. Of the ministers on the DS list, the names of Human and Minority Rights Minister Svetozar Ciplic, Trade Minister Slobodan Milosavljevic, Agriculture Minister Sasa Dragin and Religion Minister Bogoljub Sijakovic have been mentioned so far, but it remains to be seen what Tadic will decide, the daily concluded.
