EP Rapporteur for Serbia Jelko Kacin will on Tuesday present the Serbian parliament Foreign Affairs Committee with the draft resolution on Serbia. It confirms that the country's future is within the EU, adding that full cooperation with the ICTY is a condition for the continuation of Serbia's EU integration. EP Serbia resolution to be presented According to the draft resolution, Serbia has an important role in preserving stability and security in the region, and a constructive approach to regional cooperation is very significant for regional stability and progress in EU integration. Good neighborly relations and regional cooperation are crucial elements of EU integration process that have a key role in transforming the Western Balkans into a zone of long-term stability and sustainable development, the draft resolution reads, adding that Belgrade and Pristina are requested to begin dialogue as soon as possible, with the help of the EU. In order for the dialogue to be successful, commitment and readiness for compromise are required from both sides, taking into account their joint future within the EU, the draft resolution reads. Serbia is commended for the progress that it has made in the reform process owing to its political commitment to follow the road of EU integration and develop its administrative capacities. The country's unilateral implementation of the Interim Trade Agreement is also saluted, as well as the fact that some of the EU member states have already ratified the Stabilization and Association Agreement, whereas others were urged to do that as soon as possible.
