The Serbian government is likely to hold a phone meeting and decide the conditions are not present for Serbs to vote in Kosovo. The Kosovo Albanian authorities-organized elections have been scheduled for December 12, while the deadline to submit election lists expires on Thursday. Government to decide on Serb participation Belgrade daily Danas writes that the government will make its decision on Wednesday, or Thursday, and that this is contrary to announcements that the Serbs will be told to take part in the vote or boycott it "in a timely manner". Officially, however, the government's media office would not say when the decision will be made, or what it might be. The only answer the newspaper received was that the government's position on this issue will be "clear". On Monday, President Boris Tadic said he would make his opinion known once the government makes its announcement. Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said that he personally thought that conditions were not there for Serb participation, and that he thought it unlikely that the government would think otherwise. Jeremic echoed a similar statement made on Sunday by Deputy PM Ivica Dacic, which, according to Danas, put the ruling SPS party leader on the other side of his pre-election coalition partners PUPS and JS. The Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) said that party would take part in the December elections in Kosovo, with leader Vuk Draskovic quoted as saying that this will be "in the greatest interest of the Serb people in Kosovo, and in the national and state interest".
