Serbian authorities today launched a search operation for Hague fugitive Ratko Mladic, said reports. The operation has concluded, after it was conducted in three locations, two in Belgrade and one in the central Serbian town of Arandjelovac. Search for "Mladic-related information" B92 has learned that the Belgrade locations were a restaurant and a private home, and an ethno-village in Arandjelovac. According to reports, MUP's Gendarmerie unit was deployed in Arandjelovac, searching the premises for information that could lead to the arrest of Mladic. The search of the ethno-village lasted for three hours. Four cars and one SUV left the location afterwards, with passengers wearing balaclavas, according to reports. The owner of the ethno-village is 41-year-old Goran Radisavljevic, who also owns a restaurant in Belgrade. According to unconfirmed information, police also searched his apartment, and have brought him in for questioning. Previously, Radisavljevic was mentioned in media reports as the person who secured a van to help the wife of Milorad Ulemek aka Legija move. Ulemek is serving his 40-year prison sentence for the assassination of Zoran Djindjic. "This action has nothing to do with the prizes, it was carried out based on some previous security information," Dacic said, adding that the Serbian government is committed to completing the cooperation with the Hague. Dacic confirmed that, during the search for information regarding the Hague fugitives, one person was taken in for questioning. After the visit to the police administration in Pirot, south-eastern Serbia, Dacic told the journalists that today's action is one of the usual ones carried out by Serbia's police, War Crimes Prosecution and security services, within the Action Team for Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal. Meantime in Belgrade, Zoran Dragisic if the International Institute for Security told B92 TV that "due to the great media presence" today's operation was conducted in such a way that "no one seriously believed Mladic would be found". "After these ten million (euros in reward money for Mladic), which was in my opinion done very thoughtlessly, now we have this, and everything comes down to what kind of report (Chief Hague Prosecutor Serge) Brammerz will produce, and I think this is more of a performance for the sake of the media than something that could actually lead to Mladic," said Dragisic.

B92 has learned that the Belgrade locations were a restaurant and a private home, and an ethno-village in Aranđelovac.

According to reports, MUP's Gendarmerie unit was deployed in Aranđelovac, searching the premises for information that could lead to the arrest of Mladić.

The search of the ethno-village lasted for three hours. Four cars and one SUV left the location afterwards, with passengers wearing balaclavas, according to reports.

Minister, experts react

Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dačić has stated that the action of the search for information regarding the Hague fugitives carried out in several locations in Belgrade and Aranđelovac on Tuesday is not related to the recently increased money rewards offered for information that would lead to arrests of Ratko Mladić and Goran Hadžić.

"This action has nothing to do with the prizes, it was carried out based on some previous security information," Dačić said, adding that the Serbian government is committed to completing the cooperation with the Hague.

Dačić confirmed that, during the search for information regarding the Hague fugitives, one person was taken in for questioning.
