Serbia to receive questionnaire this month

EU Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fuele will visit Belgrade on November 24, when he will officially present the Serbian government with a questionnaire. It will consist of 4,000-5,000 questions, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic said on Monday. "Additional questions should be expected in the second quarter of the year, and as we were told, we can also expect the sending of a technical mission. We hope to receive the official opinion of the EC on Serbia's candidacy in the fall," Djelic emphasized. He added that the EC opinion should be ready by October 2011 at the latest. Djelic also said that the policy of the Serbian government regarding Kosovo had not changed, but that, in his words, the government must defend the same goal with different means, adding that Serbia wanted to reach a solution, and that dialogue was a means to that end. The deputy PM also said that the ICJ opinion did not contribute to new recognitions of Kosovo and that what "Serbia achieved with the UN resolution on Kosovo should not be underestimated".
