The heads of the EU Integration Office says she hopes for a positive outcome on Serbia's bid to become candidate for EU membership. While deciding on Serbia's EU membership candidacy, the EU Foreign Ministers will try to find a compromise between the need to enable Belgrade to progress in the EU integration process and the necessity to ensure the completion of cooperation with the Hague, Milica Delevic says. Serbia hopes for positive outcome In a statement for Tanjug, Delevic could not say for certain whether the EU Council of Ministers will forward Serbia's candidacy to the European Commission (EC) on Monday, but she expressed hope that a solution will be found which will satisfy all parties. "I hope that Serbia's request for membership will be forwarded to the EC as soon as possible. This is a decision to be made by the EU member states, taking into account on the one hand Serbia's willingness to progress, and on the other, the EU's wish for the criteria which are important for progress to be fulfilled. I believe that they will look for a solution precisely in the balance between these two goals," Delevic said. According to her, the completion of the cooperation with the Hague by the arrest of the Hague fugitives Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic will remain the condition for Serbia's EU integration.
