The Serbian parliament is today expected to vote on the proposed changes to the Criminal Procedure Code. The ruling majority expects that the new law will enable for a more efficient fight against hooligans. Parliament to vote on criminal procedure changes The draft was altered in an urgent procedure on Wednesday and envisages detention of suspects to be extended from eight to 30 days. Opposition parties said they would vote against the law, while the Liberal-Democrats will vote in favor after their amendments were accepted. They state that detention can be extended only for acts that were accompanied with violence. In the meantime, the Belgrade derby of the top Serbian football league will go ahead as planned on Saturday in front of fans.
