Serbia, NATO strengthen their partnership

Major-General Bozidar Forca has said that Serbia and NATO have agreed on 42 joint goals over the past two years. The general heads the Strategic Planning Department of the Serbian Ministry of Defense Sector for Defense Policy. Serbia, NATO strengthen their partnership "There were 19 in 2009 and 23 in 2010. We are supposed to present an action plan by October, which will define the ways how to achieve those goals within the Defense Ministry and Serbian Armed Forces," Forca stated. He told Odbrana, a magazine founded by the ministry, that a Serbia-NATO defense reform group was reactivated in June. The goals include a more active role by Serbia in international operations, Forca remarked. One of the directions taken in choosing new goals focuses on preparations, training, organization, use and provision of forces for multinational operations. "The second aspect refers to military professionalization, meaning the ways in which partner countries can help us with their experience in the process," said Forca. Serbia is a member of the NATO Partnership for Peace program since 2006.
