He said at a parliamentary press conference that NIS was sold to the Russian side for less than its realistic price and for support in what he called the failed Kosovo policies of Serbia. LDP calls for revision of Russian agreement He called on checks to be implemented on the work of Srbijagas in order to stop any further loss of money that the company is incurring. Jovanovic said that the new anti-crisis policies in the country cannot function without defining the energy policies and without redefining the “scandalous” agreement with Russia which was used to fulfill the political needs of the former government. Jovanovic said that the Russian relationship towards Serbia in terms of the energy sector is degrading and that Serbia is the only country through which the South Stream pipeline will pass that has given all control up over its energy resources. He said that the middleman companies used in the process of supplying gas need to be abolished in order to decrease the total price and controls must be implemented on Srbijagas, because the citizens of Serbia are paying for the company through bills, subsidies and loans, therefore, the state is obligated to implement control. “There are no obstacles in redefining the agreement between Serbia and Russia and that agreement needs to determine the fate of its creator, former Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica. The Russian Federation cannot expect Serbia to have understanding for relations that do not characterize the relations of Russia with any other country,” he said.
