The Serbian foreign minister will talk with Lesotho Parliament Speaker Ntlhoi Motsamai and Foreign Minister Mohlabi Kenneth Tsekoa during his visit to that country on Thursday. On Monday, Jeremic was in South Africa, and he returned to Belgrade briefly on Tuesday, where he met with his British counterpart William Hague. Vuk Jeremic (Beta) "Constitutional obligation" Serbia's strategic commitment is membership in the EU, and Kosovo is the country's constitutional and democratic obligation, Vuk Jeremic told the BBC. He reiterated that a solution for Kosovo must be that of compromise, instead of having one side "win all". Jeremic said that Serbia had made progress in its EU bid, and rejected reports that the process was halted due to Belgrade's diplomatic activities related to Kosovo. Asked whether the province's partition was an acceptable compromise, Jeremic said that any solution must be part of a compromise, and that sides must sit down and solve problems through dialogue. Jeremic said ahead of the UN General Assembly session that Serbia's Kosovo draft submitted to that institution was designed to defend the position that secession is not acceptable, and to resolve any doubt as to whether Pristina's declaration in fact gives statehood to those who adopted it. The minister also said that two thirds of the world countries have not recognized Kosovo, and that the ICJ advisory opinion did not affect their decision. The Serbian government has a clear position that it will never recognize the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, said Jeremic, and again spoke in favor of a solution that would come through negotiations and dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
