Defense minister praises ties with China

Ahead of his second visit to China, Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac says that the trip testifies to the strengthening of ties between the two nations. Sutanovac told Belgrade daily Politika that he will discuss defense issues as he meets with Chinese officials in Beijing, but also questions pertaining to the overall Sino-Serbian relations. Defense minister praises ties with China The minister said his delegation would once again express its gratitude for China's backing over Kosovo, and expectations that this principled support would continue. A protocol will also be signed for a EUR 500,000 donation that China has set aside for the Serbian Army and the MoD. Sutanovac noted that there was no significant cooperation between the two countries' defense industries, although this subject was discussed on several occasions. "It would be important for Serbia to find a way to cooperate on some projects, or work together for third markets," said the minister, who is leaving for Beijing on Saturday.
