First Diaspora Assembly held

The first Assembly of the Serbian Diaspora and Serbs from the Region will be held in Belgrade. The assembly will include the adoption of a strategic decision and give directions for the work of state institutions in relation to Serbs living abroad. First Diaspora Assembly held The assembly will be attended by President Boris Tadic, Parliamentary Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic and Diaspora Minister Srdjan Sreckovic. A constitutive session will be held as well, at which a president of the assembly will be elected as well. The assembly is the highest institution for the Diaspora and Serbs in the region, made up of 45 delegates from around the world. The delegates will be meeting with Serbian Orthodox Church leader Patriarch Irinej on Sunday, and on Monday with Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic. Diaspora Minister Sreckovic said that the assembly will represent Serbs living abroad, regardless of nationality and religion. He said that the assembly will be the leading institution of the first law for the Diaspora and Serbs in the region, and its members will be participating in the assembly on a voluntary basis.

First Diaspora Assembly held

The assembly will be attended by President Boris Tadić, Parliamentary Speaker Slavica Đukić-Dejanović and Diaspora Minister Srđan Srećković.

A constitutive session will be held as well, at which a president of the assembly will be elected as well.
