15th Constitutional Court judge appointed

The Serbian parliament appointed Thursday Sabahudin Tahirović to the office of a Constitutional Court judge, at the proposal of President Boris Tadić.

The Serbian parliament appointed Thursday Sabahudin Tahirovic to the office of a Constitutional Court judge, at the proposal of President Boris Tadic. Tahirovic's apppointment was supported by 127 MPs, and the other candidate nominated by Tadic was Assistant Director-General of Serbia's Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance Enver Niksic. 15th Constitutional Court judge appointed Tahirovic, who was a judge of the Higher Court in Novi Sad, graduated from the Law Faculty in Sarajevo in 1988. Tahirovic will repalce Stanka Milovanovic, who was relieved of office by the Serbian Parliament at her own request in December. The Constitutional Court has 15 judges who are elected and appointed for nine years of office - five are elected by the parliament, five are appointed by the Serbian president, and five are elected at the general session of the Supreme Court of Cassation.

15th Constitutional Court judge appointed

Tahirović, who was a judge of the Higher Court in Novi Sad, graduated from the Law Faculty in Sarajevo in 1988.

Tahirović will repalce Stanka Milovanović, who was relieved of office by the Serbian Parliament at her own request in December.

The Constitutional Court has 15 judges who are elected and appointed for nine years of office - five are elected by the parliament, five are appointed by the Serbian president, and five are elected at the general session of the Supreme Court of Cassation.
