Serbian and Croatian Interior Ministers Ivica Dacic and Tomislav Karamarko met in the northern town of Sombor today. They discussed cooperation in the fight against organized crime, said announcements. Karamarko said that Kalinic is current in a prison hospital in Zagreb and his condition was stable. Kalinic was shot and wounded by Simovic on June 8 in Zagreb. Simovic was arrested to days later by Serbian police while trying to cross the bordered into Serbia illegally after allegedly trying to kill Kalinic. The delegation of the two interior ministeries (MUPs) also includes the Serbian and Croatian police directors Milorad Veljovic and Oliver Grbic. The Serbian and Croatian justice ministers will sign an agreement on Tuesday for the extradition of citizens of the two countries, in case they are suspected or convicted of organized crime or corruption. Belgrade said that it expects Kalinic, who is a Croatian citizen, to be extradited to Serbia as soon as the agreement is signed. Dacic and Karamarko met in Osijek, Croatia, on May 7, which is the day that the agreement for police cooperation between Serbia and Croatia took power.
